Mr Lawrence is one of the leading hip surgeons in the UK. He specialises in Hip Replacement, Key Hole Surgery of the hip joint and Revision Hip Replacement. Mr Lawrence has expertise in complex surgery in young patients who often have malformed hip joints (dysplasia) requiring bone grafting techniques to rebuild the socket of the hip joint. Patients are referred to Mr Lawrence from around the region when they develop problems with their existing hip replacements including infection, dislocation and pain. Mr Lawrence will find a solution for the trickiest of problems in existing hip replacements and uses innovative technology to rebuild damaged bone.

Mr Lawrence has followed up his patients for over 12 years after Hip Replacement. Mr. Lawrence specialises in ther Exeter hip Replacement and this implant currently has the best results in the National Joint Registry. Mr Lawrence's younger patients return to a very active lifestyle including five-a-side football, football coaching, skiing and running - including half-marathons. To date, none of his patients have required re-do surgery for loosening or wear, irrespective of their age or level of activity.

Mr Lawrence also offers Knee Replacement Surgery using a patient specific 'Signature' system. Mr. Lawrence's other interests include treatment of early arthritis of the knee joint using a membrane 'Maioregen' to stimulate new cartilage growth.
